What is the difference between a metered and unmetered service?

There are two ways we can charge you for water and/or sewerage services: metered and unmetered.

Unmetered charges are based on the rateable value of your property.

Metered charges are based on how much water you use - this is measured using a water meter.

If you're a household customer, you can choose to have a meter installed, normally free of charge.
