Can I have a water meter if I rent my home?

If you're a tenant and want a water meter, we suggest you contact your landlord before applying.

If you have a fixed term tenancy of less than six months, you can't request a meter without your landlord's approval.

You will need to send us copies of your landlord's written permission and tenancy agreement. Other types of tenancy may not need approval.

Please note that we aim to install a meter in unmetered properties when there is a change of occupier.
