What is the assessed charge and how is it calculated?

The assessed charge is used if you've requested a meter, but we are unable to fit one – it is an estimate of the bill you would pay if a meter was fitted.

It means we need to estimate the amount of water you are likely to use.

The number of people living in a home is the biggest factor affecting how much water is used. We set assessed charges on this basis.
